It’s been a labor of love and commitment travelling back and forth to Seattle’s Studio Litho these past few months to record, produce and participate in mixing my third CD, Little Bit of Luck. This album represents the challenges of the past few years, the highs, the lows and my reflections on past experiences. Little Bit of Luck features a stellar group of musicians who help make my eclectic mix of original roots, funk and blues shine.
Anyone who has written an original album knows the work that goes into this – sitting with my guitar, finding the words and the chords and editing and then editing some more. My yellow lab, Lucy lay at my feet for much of my writing and arranging process, so it was only fitting I named my instrumental funk song for her, Yellow Dog Shuffle. From my ballad, Someone Like You, featuring BC cellist, Peggy Lee to my slide guitar work on my blues rock tune, Not Gonna Change My mind, there should be something for everyone. Manufacturing should be underway soon and I look forward to celebrating with some CD release parties. Will also have digital downloads available soon. Stay tuned for details!
It was a blast spending the first two days of February at Seattle’s Studio Litho recording with a fabulous group of players. The bed tracks are solid and I’m excited at the eclectic mix of original roots and blues. I also recorded my first cover tune, Bonnie Raitt’s,Love Has No Pride. I’m currently mixing in the studio and finishing up lead guitar parts. I can’t wait to release the tracks and celebrate my new songs! Stay tuned!
One of my favorite musical things to do is to play my original songs for a live audience. I’m delighted to return as the featured guest with Stacy Jones at her Songwriter night on June 13th at the Madison Avenue Pub in Everett from 7pm-9pm. It’s always a lot of fun trading songs and telling stories especially with our twin danelectro guitars.
